The 1% rule and position size
Key idea: risk only 1% of the account per trade — size it from the stop.
Why 1%
10 losses in a row: ≈ 90% left (1% risk) · ≈ 35% left (10% risk).
Sizing
Account 5,000 USD · 1% risk = 50 USD · 25-pip stop ⇒ 2 USD per pip ⇒ 0.2 lot of EURUSD.
The tool
Trading discipline sets max risk per trade, max loss per session, and how many losses in a row lock the session.
2,000 USD, 1% risk, 20-pip stop — what size?
20 USD ÷ 20 pips = 1 USD per pip ⇒ 0.1 lot.
